P/Lt./Cdr Jim Kriner passed away on December 10, 2010. Since Jim joined the squadron in 1973 he remained active in the Mansfield Power Squadron in dozens of ways. He was editor and frequent contributor to the Yachtsman, served as treasurer and a member of the executive committee, instructed many of our courses, championed the Vessel Safety Checks program, was Liaison Officer for the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and was instrumental with the North Central Ohio Safe Boating and Fishing Festival.  In 2010 the ODNR honored him for his dedication to safe boating. As a further recognition of his dedication to the joy of boating as well as his strong commitment to the principles of safe boating, he was posthumously honored for his accomplishments at the 2011 Safe Boating and Fishing Festival at Pleasant Hill Lake. Mrs. Kriner and their family were there to receive this honor.  He will be greatly missed by many!
